How ServiceCite works
The short version of how pages are made and where ServiceCite stops.
How a page is made
- Take the official file
The public Word file from the department that publishes it, with its size and fingerprint recorded.
- Keep the structure
Split into chapters and sections in the Department's own order, numbering and wording.
- Make it readable
Defined terms link to the Department's glossary, system and evidence notes are marked, and Word clutter is removed. The wording itself is not changed.
- Label the source
Every page names the publisher, version, published and effective dates, and links to the official document.
What it covers
Only the public guidelines named on each page. Use ServiceCite to find a source, then rely on the official publication.
- Not an Australian Government website.
- Not legal or policy advice, and not a substitute for your Deed.
- No Provider Portal material, participant records or internal procedures.
Search and privacy
Your search terms travel inside the request, never in the web address. ServiceCite doesn't keep them. The site's host, Vercel, processes standard request information under its privacy notice.
Search for topics or section numbers only. Never enter names, CRNs, contact details, case notes, health or disability information, or anything confidential.

- Program profiles are ServiceCite summaries that link to the official sources of NIAA, Home Affairs, DSS and DEWR.
Accessibility
ServiceCite aims for WCAG 2.2 Level AA: full keyboard use, pages that reflow on small screens, visible focus and readable source details. Automated checks run on every change, but they don't replace testing by people. If something doesn't work for you, tell me.
